January 8-10, 2021
Camp Brookwoods in Alton, NH
The annual retreat weekend is for men (18+) of SSBC.
Every year, the focal point of men's ministry is this retreat--a great way to start the New Year encouraging each other in God's Word.
The retreat includes a handful of worship and practical Bible teaching sessions as well as organized activities, small group discussions, some playoff football watching, board games, and an outdoor hike, weather permitting. Oh, and the food is great!
Every year we have two primary goals:
1. To get to know a few other guys in the church
2. To be inspired and challenged in our walk with Christ
Last year's focus was from the book of Ecclesiastes--"What is the endgame?"
Is the "teacher" who wrote Ecclesiastes correct that everything is meaningless?
Is the endgame of life simply to fear God, obey His commands, and enjoy God's gifts during a man's few, meaningless days under the sun? We were challenged by this profound, provocative piece of wisdom literature.
If you have any questions you can email the retreat team or contact Paul Sousa, Dan Light, Stephen Lyle, or Mark Richardi.
Men's Bible Studies
Team up! Take a look at the Growth Group brochure for information about men’s groups meeting to study the Bible and grow together.
We have a few Bible studies geared just for men, including these two times:
Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:30 PM, Room 21
Contact Jim Kleberg for information on the study focus this fall.
Stay in touch!
Occasionally throughout the year we hold a casual gathering for men--typically around food, such as a barbeque or a pancake breakfast. If you would like to stay informed about when special events are happening for men, subscribe to emails from the men's ministry. (We don't send a lot of emails--don't worry!)
