The Children’s Ministry of South Shore Baptist Church exists to partner with parents, helping kids to KNOW Jesus personally, GROW in their faith, and SHOW God’s love in their homes, school, and community.
Sunday mornings during the sermon (9:00 am service)
We offer a Children's Church program during the worship service for toddlers through grade 5.
Children must be registered in advance of attending any Children's Ministry event. This registration serves as a permission form, medical release, and helps us to anticipate our volunteer needs. Please fill it out even if you plan on joining us at a later date. You can indicate this on the form.
Meets Sunday Mornings during the worship service
Children's Choir, open to students in grades K-5, will meet at the same time as Children's Church on Sundays during the sermon. While Children's Choir will be learning a song to sing in the worship service, they also may experience a lesson, activities, and a snack much like the students in Children's Church. If your child likes to sing and you would like more in-depth musical and worship training for your child, please consider this track. We will begin a fall session from November 7 - December 19.
Questions? Contact Ann Cox or Jennifer Boel.
Sunday School classes begin on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 10:45 AM. Children meet by grade (ages 3 to Grade 5; Nursery available during Sunday School) during the school year.
The purpose of Sunday school is to support what parents are called to do in the home. Children are taught to grow in their faith and love for God and discover what it means to serve in His Kingdom. They also develop skills of Bible study and the joys of Christ-centered living. Children will be taught through a Bible curriculum with scope and sequence from age 3 – Grade 5.
Scripture Memorization Program
Kids are encouraged to hide God's word in their hearts. We are starting a Scripture memorization program for February through June. Families, give it a shot!
We need many volunteers to provide childcare and Children's Church, especially as group sizes need to be smaller this year. We are looking for enough volunteers to make a 5-week rotating schedule for Children's Church and Nursery. Would you consider volunteering? Read about the various volunteer positions here.
