Serve: ATLANTA

Students who are completing 8th Grade through High School are invited to join us in Atlanta, July 24-30, 2022. We will be serving through LeaderTreks, who led our Student Ministry Bootcamp in 2020. Be part of the team as we serve alongside our host church as they minister to their community.

During our week, we'll be staying in a local church who is actively serving their community. We'll be helping with services like food distribution, minsitry to men and women experiencing homelessness, and to children in the neighborhood. This church has a vibrant ministry in their community and we're excited to help extend their regular ministry.

One of the reasons we love serving with LeaderTreks is their commitment to equip students to discover their leadership gifts, passions, and opportunities. Since "leadership is influence," every single student has opportunities to use their leadership to lead others to Jesus - and LeaderTreks excels in this kind of training.

Why are we calling it a "Service Trip" instead of "Missions Trip?"

Words matter. SSBC believes that a missions trip is evangelistic in nature. Of course, a gospel-driven service trip will involve evangelism. But since the main thrust of this trip is serving the urban community in the name of Jesus and we are welcoming students who have not made an explicit profession of faith then it seems wiser call this what it is: a service trip.
