Children’s Ministry

Children’s Ministry will start registration for all programs from nursery through 5th grade on Sunday, August 17 in the downstairs foyer. Some programs are limited due to space or volunteer staffing, so please register early.

Sunday School Opening Program September 7 - in the sanctuary following the 8:30am service. Volunteers are needed for the fall. We need:

• Helpers in Sunday School (assistants each week, 9:45-10:45am)
• Helpers in K4C, our midweek program (each Wednesday, 6:30-8:05pm)
• Little Lambs (once a month, 8:30 or 11:00am)
• Nursery (once a month, 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00am). Contact the Nursery Coordinator, Jill Stutz (stutz523@comcast.net or 781.987.1371 )
• **Reminder: our nursery and Little Lambs is run on a co-op basis.
• **All workers must complete a Children’s Ministry form and a CORI form (Criminal Record Check). Both forms can be picked up at the registration table in the foyer starting August 17th.

Current Children’s Ministry Volunteers, Circle These Dates:

• Sunday School Teachers’ Meeting, Sunday, August 24, 11:00am in the library.
• K4C Leaders/Helpers, Wednesday, September 3, 6:00pm in Fellowship Hall with a light supper, and September 14 at 11:00am in the library.

Children’s Church News

• Children do not move up to Children’s Church or Little Lambs until September 7.

Parents (and grandparents) are God’s original children’s ministry. God calls parents, and especially fathers, to “bring [children] up in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).

Ideally, Christian parenting is about training children in the Bible’s truths, praying for their conversion and spiritual growth, and exemplifying mature Christian living for them. SSBC’s children’s ministry seeks to support families in this task. Through Sunday School, children’s church, and other ministries, the church reinforces the gospel taught and lived out at home. Our children’s ministry focuses primarily on teaching children the Bible and the gospel of Jesus in a safe, loving, and fun environment.We long to see God raise up another generation of faithful believers. We believe that one of our greatest “mission fields” is right here, among the children of the church. SSBC is eager to partner with families to see this hope fulfilled.
